Alabama got the ball rolling with a ripple effect of verbal commitments. Herb Jones and Alex Reese both pledge to the Crimson within hours of each other. [Read Here] Samford got a likely commitment from 1A state champion Kevion Nolan of Sacred Heart Catholic and Memphis gets a big verbal commitment from 6-foot-4 combo guard Jamal Johnson of Spain Park High School. [Read Here] Charleston Southern got a verbal commitment from Daphne High School point guard Deontaye Buskey over the weekend during his official visit. Jon Brown of Helena High School gave North Alabama a huge verbal commitment on Saturday. [Read Here] North Alabama got a pledge from Winfield point guard Payton Stovall Monday night. DeAndre Robinson is a kid who made a name for himself early during his high school career. Alabama A&M was one of the first division-I schools to offer and they got the job done Tuesday night when Robinson verbally committed. [Read Here] There aren't very many people from Fairhope, Alabama that can say they have played division-I basketball but Tevin Brown will be able to. He's from an area that is heavily recruited in football and not too far from the beach. While most of his classmates were hitting the waves and casting their rods during the spring and summer, Brown was on the travel circuit battling for scholarships and getting better along the way. [Read Here] The class of 2019 looks to be a talented class with some size at the top. This class is greatly needed with 2018 not having much to offer at the moment. Athleticism and skill level comes to mind when you think of the kids in this class along with upside of course. Also, there seems to be a couple of talented combo forwards who are already high major prospects. [Read Here] Its funny how the tables turn year after year. Trey Jemison has turned that table and moves from the #10 spot to the top spot after winning a 6A State Championship and an AAU National Championship. [Read Here] There's always a kid flying under the radar and it's our job to make sure their name comes to light. The name is Donnie Williams of Park Crossing in Montgomery, Alabama. With a scoring package you can probably find on NBA 2K, Williams usually rises to the occasion once the ball is tipped but you probably wouldn't know that if you lived outside of the 334-area code. The class of 2017 is top heavy and doesn't have nearly as much depth as the class of 2017. But when it comes to pro potential, division-I prospects and high major talent, Alabama hasn't had a better class in years.
